Superbowl

I'm not a football fan. I've never watched the Superbowl, not even for the ads. Usually, I forget about it.

This year was a little different. I had a friend who was really excited about the super bowl and since I have family in Louisiana, I decided to root for the Saints. I also have family in Indiana, but I found out the Colts were playing after I found out the Saints were playing and so they lost out.

I had to work, so I still didn't watch the superbowl. But I got text updates from my friend in Louisiana. After I remembered that today was superbowl sunday and she'd be watching and I kinda wanted to know what was going on.

This was probably the most fun Superbowl I have ever had. A couple of the guys at work bet on the game. One of them doesn't really care about football (or about the two teams playing, I forget which is was) and he bet on the Colts because the other guy was a Saints fan. So he was super happy for most of the game and one of the managers and me were getting to hear all about it (although we were both rooting for the Saints and being sad the Colts were ahead). I'm getting updates from my friend in LA, ever since I texted her and I texted her right before the Saints started earning back points. It was when the Colts were ahead by 7. So I was like...plenty of comeback time. And it was at that point that the Saints started making all their points back.

WHICH WAS SO EXCITING. Everytime someone scored I got a text and I'd get the update and it felt like my rooting for them had an impact even though I'm in California and wasn't even watching the game. It was awesome. And I will be happy to see the Saints fan of the two betting boys get to rub it in the other guy's face a bit.

So I'm thinking sometime I'm going to have to do the actual Superbowl thing sometime. Watch it on the TV and whatnot. Maybe one day I'll try to actually go to the game. Maybe when one of my hometown teams are playing. Although I don't think they've made the play offs in years. I'm not sure. I'm not really a football fan. I'm not really much of a sports girl. But I get into games when someone else is watching and I have a half decent understanding of what is going on.

Minus the Olympics. I'll watch all Olympic sports and be super excited. I have a cheering order down. United States, home country, Italy and France, and then random underdogs from random countries. I'm SO excited for the Olympics. Friday.
