more time!

So I'm going to the Harry Potter convention in July. Yes, I am that big of a nerd. But it will be so much fun. I was thinking about submitting a proposal for programming. Basically, I would put together a half hour program on something in the Harry Potter books. And I really wanted to do it, but life caught up with me and I missed the Feb 12 deadline.

BUT! The have now extended the deadline! To February 28th! So now I can come up with something to talk about. I'd probably want to do a roundtable and put my thoughts together and then have people talk about them. I really want to so something on the Black Family, who are my most favorite characters. I like the pureblood bigots. For some reason. I like the bad characters mostly. It's not that I don't like the good characters, but they are so good. I like the misguided. Those who have such conviction but are wrong. I've always liked the romance of the confederacy as well. Despite the fact that they were supporting a cause that was completely and most certainly wrong. There is something just so fascinating about those people. It's easy when you read a book or look back over history, to be able to point out right and wrong. But I'm always curious as to what the people who were/are wrong, what they were thinking at the time. That's always been more interesting then people with the "right" viewpoints. That isn't as interesting.

So I'm hoping that now I can get something together on the Blacks, probably most likely the Black sisters, before the 28th. Wish me luck!
